The government has planned to start the construction work of a multimodal logistics hub at Bay Terminal in Chattogram very soon, said Mohammad Yousuf, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Shipping.
He said this on Sunday while speaking at a roundtable discussion titled “Challenges, Opportunities, and Way Forward in Shipping & Logistics Landscape” as the chief guest.
The Financial Express organised the event at Lakeshore Heights hotel in the Gulshan area of the capital on Sunday,
Dr. Ahmed Ullah, director general, Chief Adviser’s Office, joined as the function as the special guest.

Md. Mamun Habib, Professor, Independent University, Bangladesh, has delivered the keynote address, with the session being moderated by Shiabur Rahman Shihab of The Financial Express.
The multi-modal logistics hub is a planned facility designed to integrate various transportation modes (rail, road, sea) for efficient cargo movement—specifically, a new railway container terminal in Halishahar.
