National Bank signs remittance service agreement with dLocal

National Bank PLC, one of Bangladesh’s leading remittance procuring banks, has signed a Remittance Service Agreement with dLocal Limited, a globally recognized Electronic Money Institution (EMI) based in Malta.

According to a press release, this strategic partnership aims to strengthen cross-border remittance services and deliver faster, secure, and efficient solutions for millions of remittance customers.

The signing ceremony was held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at National Bank PLC Head Office, Dhaka, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. Mr. Adil Chowdhury, Managing Director of National Bank PLC, and Mr. Shaion Tripura, Country Manager APAC of dLocal Limited exchanged the agreement documents. Joining virtually from dLocal were Ms. Sofia Ghuisolfi (VP APAC), Mr. Endika Alonso (Global Remittance Vertical Lead), and Ms. Daiby Anne Bonifacio (Payout Specialist).

Among other distinguished officials of National Bank PLC, Mr. Imran Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Syed Zubayer Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director & CFO, Mr. Kazi Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director-Incharge, Mr. Md Abdur Rahim, Deputy Managing Director-Incharge, Mr. Md. Meshkat-Ul-Anwer Khan, DMD-Incharge, Mr. Milton Roy, Head of Foreign Remittance Division and other Divisional Heads were present in the Signing Ceremony.

In his address, Mr. Adil Chowdhury, Managing Director of National Bank PLC, emphasized the importance of foreign remittance not only from a business perspective but also as a vital contributor to strengthening Bangladesh’s national economy. Mentioning Malta as a new potential remittance market for Bangladesh, he described this partnership as a groundbreaking step toward bringing remittance services closer to the country’s common people, ensuring financial inclusion and convenience.
