Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, a Switzerland-originated Company, is set to launch a cereal-based fortifier under the brand name Nestlé PushtiGrow+, aimed at combating malnutrition among children aged 5 to 9 years in Bangladesh. Following extensive deliberation and collaboration from Nestlé, the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), the apex and largest multi-disciplinary government research organisation in Bangladesh, has developed this cereal-based fortifier to address micronutrient deficiencies in this age group. Nestlé believes that this innovative product will provide affordable nutrition accessible to all socio-economic groups.

Dr. Samina Ahmed, Chairman of BCSIR, emphasised that such collaboration with Nestlé has the potential to significantly enhance the nation’s nutrition profile, thereby contributing to the achievement of Bangladesh's Sustainable Development Goals.

Recently, a signing ceremony for this initiative took place in the capital. Debabrata Roy Chowdhury, Director, Legal, RSA & CA, and Company Secretary, with other officials, were present from Nestlé. Mohammad Shohedul Hoque Patwary, Secretary, BCSIR, Md. Toufiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury, Member (Development), were present alongside the Chairman of BCSIR on the signing ceremony.
