New Office Bearers for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Foundation Bangladesh

On 9 September 2024, during a Board of Trustees meeting, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Foundation Bangladesh elected its new office bearers.

Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq has been elected as the Chairman, Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani as the Honorary Secretary, and Ms. Talita Choudhury as the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for a term of two years commencing from 9 September 2024 till 8 September 2026, according to a media release. 

Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq, representing Rangoonwala Foundation UK, is the Managing Director of B2M Technologies. His leadership experience and dedication to youth development make him an excellent choice for guiding the Foundation forward.

Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, the Chairman of M. M. Ispahani Ltd, represents one of Bangladesh’s most esteemed organizations and brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic insight to his role as Honorary Secretary.

Ms. Talita Choudhury, the Director of Education and a Board Member of Bangladesh International Tutorial, brings her expertise in education and youth engagement to the role of Treasurer. The new office bearers are committed to advancing the Foundation’s mission of inspiring and empowering the youth of Bangladesh.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global non-formal education framework established in 1956 by HRH Prince Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh, in the United Kingdom. It challenges young people (aged 14 - 24) to discover their potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world. It is a compact self-development programme equipping young people with holistic knowledge uptake to make and lead a better world through facilitating versatile flavours of experiential learning.

Since of its inception, millions of young people have participated in the Award in more than 130 countries and territories worldwide. The Award was introduced in Bangladesh in 2008 and has since expanded to 102 prominent educational institutions nationwide, empowering over 33,000 Award holders to date, the release adds.
