The Bangladesh Bank (BB) is set to release new currency notes for Taka 100 on March 7.

According to BSS, new notes contain 100 per cent cotton paper ‘Uv Curing Varnish’ with an aim to strengthen the security features of the currency.

The measurement of the notes is 140 x 62 millimetre and the new notes will be available at BB’s Motijheel branch on March 7, said a press release.

Later, the notes will be available at all branches of the central bank, the release added.

In the new notes, the existing design and colour of the Taka 100 note are unchanged.

Varnish plaque has been added on both sides of the notes. As a result, the notes will be shinier and increase its stability.

The notes will be less dirty than the existing one and anything cannot be written easily on the notes. Besides, users of the notes will feel a bit slippery.

All the previous features of the Taka 100 notes in the varnish currency will remain intact.

Along with the new printed notes, the existing Taka 100 notes will continue as valid banknotes.
