NX Bangladesh conducts tree plantation drive

At a time when global warming is taking a huge toll on the environment, tree plantation has been a crucial endeavor that directly impacts the well-being of the planet and all its inhabitants. Trees act as natural filters for pollutants, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere, thereby improving air quality and combating climate change. They provide shade, mitigate noise pollution, conserve soil, and create a habitat for wildlife.

Convinced by these facts, Nippon Express Bangladesh Ltd (NX Bangladesh), a concern of globally famed logistics conglomerate Nippon Express Holdings, Inc., has engaged in tree plantation in Bangladesh as part of its corporate social responsibilities.

In the first phase of the tree plantation drive, the company arranged the plantation of 250 saplings at a function at “127 No. Jantrail Govt Primary School” in Nawabganj upazila under Dhaka district recently. Of the saplings, 40 were planted on the school ground by NX employees while the remaining 210 were distributed among students to be planted at their respective places.

The main objective of the tree plantation drive is to raise awareness and knowledge among students about the importance of trees and the protection of the environment. The company believes that by actively participating in the plantation process, students will be able to learn about different types of plants.

The company expects the trees planted in the drive will play a crucial role in protecting the ecological balance in the area, which is adjacent to the Padma Bridge and will be one of the biggest manufacturing hubs of Bangladesh in the future.

Officials of the company also believe that the tree plantation drive will actively contribute to the environment around the school and well-being of the surrounding community.
