Padma Bank employees observe national mourning month

Padma Bank Limited is observing “National Mourning Day 2023” marking the 48th martyrdom anniversary of the great architect of independent Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The month-long programme began with the wearing of black badges on Tuesday. Tarek Reaz Khan, managing director and CEO of the bank, led the programme by donning the black Badge, according to a press release issued by the bank.

All officers and employees of the bank also wore black badges and participated in observing the month of mourning in a solemn atmosphere.

Managing Director and CEO Tarek Reaz Khan briefed on the life and contribution of Bangabandhu at the event.

The board of directors of Padma Bank has already initiated various programmes to observe the National Mourning Month with due dignity.

On August 15, various programmes will be observed that include keeping the national flag at half mast at the bank building, placing special banners and festoons in the branches, paying tribute at the Mausoleum of Father of the Nation, and a tree-plantation programme.

In the meeting of the board of directors of the bank, a discussion on the National Day of Mourning and a discussion on the life and work of Bangabandhu will be organised.
