PRAN inks $5 million deal with Netherlands food group to export noodles, juice

PRAN, one of the leading food processors in Bangladesh, has signed an agreement worth $5 million with the Engel Foreign Food, a popular chain shop in the Netherlands, to export noodles, juice and confectionery items.

The agreement was signed at PRAN-RFL Center on Saturday, PRAN wrote in a media statement.

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group, handed over a crest to Wim Engel, CEO of Engel Foreign Food Group spreading PRAN products throughout the Netherlands at the event.

The demand of PRAN products is gradually increasing in the European countries, said Mizanur Rahman, Chief Operating Officer at PRAN Export Limited. PRAN started exporting its products to the Netherlands in 2017 and this year Engel Foreign Food will purchase aloe vera juice them for the first time, he added.

“The juice will be available at 500 outlets of various famous super shops in the Netherlands, Germany, France and Poland,” he said.

PRAN is planning to export ready pasta and ready noodles in future, Rahman added.

The PRAN products are gaining popularity in the European markets competing with the globally famous brands, said Wim Engel. He hoped that PRAN products will get more popularity in the days to come, bdnews24 reported.

Golam Rasul, deputy general manager of PRAN Export Limited, Laurens Ten Feld, international sales and marketing director of Engel Foreign Food Group and Marcel Beemsterboer, commercial manager were present at the signing ceremony.

At present PRAN exports its products to 141 countries. The Group has exported products worth $330 million in the fiscal year of 2017-18.
