PRAN-RFL Group, the country's leading business conglomerate, organized a job fair at Saint Martin’s, Bangladesh's lone coral island.
The day-long fair was held on Sunday (January 26) at the Haque Bari Resort in Saint Martin. More than one hundred job seekers in Saint Martin participated in the job fair, and many of them got jobs according to their qualifications and skills, according to a media release.
As part of the initiative titled 'Saint Martin’s: Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Economy' this job fair was organized by PRAN-RFL Group with the aim of improving the quality of life of the people of the island and creating alternative employment opportunities.
Kamruzzaman Kamal, Director Marketing at PRAN-RFL Group, said, Unemployment is one of the major problems in Bangladesh. PRAN-RFL Group is playing a major role in solving the problem thought job creation. PRAN-RFL Group, took up an initiative titled 'Saint Martin’s: Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Economy to protect Saint Martin`s island last year.
He also said, "As part of this initiative, the day-long job fair has been held with the aim of creating alternative employment for the people of the island. The main source of income for the people of Saint Martin is tourism and fishing. But the people of the island cannot be involved in these professions all year round. As a result, they remain unemployed for a period of the year. Considering this, our group has arranged employment opportunity for the people of the island."
Recruitment for the positions of Trainee Executive Store/Distribution, Assistant Territory Sales Manager (Male), Showroom Sales Executive, Sales Representative, Electrician (Mechanic, Welder) and Security Guard was conducted at this year's fair held in association with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and My Saint Martin.
