Prime Bank Foundation awards scholarship to 234 meritorious students

Prime Bank Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Prime Bank PLC, continues its efforts to support healthcare and education for the underprivileged across the country. This year, the foundation awarded scholarships to 234 academically talented but financially disadvantaged students through its Education Support Programme, according to a press release.
The 17th Scholarship Awarding Ceremony of the Education Support Programme was held on Saturday (August 31) at Golf Garden, Army Golf Club in Dhaka, according to a press release. Azam J Chowdhury, Chairman of Prime Bank Foundation, attended as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Rasheda K Chowdhury, a member of the Advisory Committee for the Education Support Programme, served as the Special Guest. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Tanjil Chowdhury, Chairman of Prime Bank PLC; Mr Hassan O Rashid, CEO of Prime Bank PLC; and Maj Gen Dr Md Nayeem Ashfaque Chowdhury (Retd), CEO of Prime Bank Foundation.
Launched in 2007, the Education Support Programme is a flagship initiative of the foundation, providing scholarships to academically gifted yet financially disadvantaged students across all 64 districts of Bangladesh to pursue their graduation-level studies. To date, 4,242 students have benefited from the programme. This year, 234 new students received scholarships.
In addition to its scholarship programme, Prime Bank Foundation has established the Prime Bank Grammar School, Prime Bank Eye Hospital, and Prime College of Nursing in Dhaka, and is developing an international standard school and general hospital.
