Prime Insurance rebrands as Prime Islami Insurance after receiving Sharia-based licence

Prime Insurance Company Limited has received regulatory approval to operate as an Islamic Sharia-based insurer, rebranding as Prime Islami Insurance PLC.
The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) issued a new registration certificate on 18 February 2026, following clearances from the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) and other relevant regulators
.
IDRA's certificate was handed to Chairman Mohammad Sahadet Hossain by CEO Abdul Hamid at the company's head office, according to a press release.
Additional Managing Directors of the company, Abdullah Al- Mamun and Md Shahriat Hossain Bhuiyan, and other senior officials of the company were present at the time.
