Procedure underway to appoint commercial counsellor for trade in BD: US envoy

US Ambassador Earl R Miller on Tuesday said his country has begun the procedure to appoint commercial counsellor for enhancing trade volume in Bangladesh.
The envoy also hailed the relation between Bangladesh and the USA regarding economic and commercial affairs.
Miller came up with the information at a meeting with Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi at Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital.
He also said workplace environment in apparel factories in Bangladesh has improved significantly, as safe and sound atmosphere has been ensured for the workers in readymade garments (RMG) factories.
Both the countries can reap benefits by enhancing trade, Miller added.
He lauded Bangladesh to ensure the rights of workers with utmost importance.
