Pubali Bank PLC, one of the leading private commercial banks of Bangladesh, on Wednesday held its 1500th Meeting of the Board of Directors, marking a significant milestone in the bank’s long-standing tradition of strong corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic leadership.
According to a press release, the occasion was commemorated with a cake-cutting ceremony attended by former Chairman Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar alongside current Board members and senior management.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Board, Monzurur Rahman. Notably, Mr. Rahman also chaired the very first Board meeting of Pubali Bank following its transition to the private sector in January 1985, underscoring a remarkable continuity of leadership and institutional stewardship.
Board members present at the meeting included Habibur Rahman, Rumana Sharif, Azizur Rahman, Rana Laila Hafiz, Arif Ahmed Choudhury, Shahinuzzaman Yaqub, Independent Directors Dr. Shahdeen Malik and Mohammad Naushad Ali Chowdhury and Alternate Director Nadir Ahmed. The meeting was also attended by Mohammad Ali, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the bank.
Also present were the Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Esha; as well as Mohammad Liton Mia, General Manager & Chief Financial Officer, Md. Anisur Rahman, General Manager & Company Secretary and Md. Shah Alam, General Manager & Chief Protocol Officer (Pubali Bank Securities Limited).
