The gatekeepers and gatemen of Bangladesh Railway have warned that they would block railway tracks and go on an indefinite strike from March 24 if their demands for job regularisation are not met.

The protest took place on Wednesday (March 19) at 10:30 am at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka, where employees gathered for a human chain and demonstration. During the protest, they submitted a memorandum to the adviser of the Ministry of Railways, reiterating their demand.

The strike is set to begin on March 24, coinciding with the start of the Eid travel rush, as thousands of people are expected to travel home for the holiday. The protesting gatekeepers and gatemen have threatened to disrupt train services if their job regularisation demands are not addressed by then.
