RAKUB connects to ekPay to ease bill payment

The Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) on Friday connected to the integrated bill payment system, ekPay, to help citizens pay bills in a convenient way through its web portal or mobile app.

It also upgraded its mobile app, allowing the Grameenphone customers to use it without incurring any internet data cost.

The bank came up with the move towards Smart Banking at a ceremony at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park, Rajshai.

Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division under the Ministry of Finance Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah spoke as the chief guest at the function.

RAKUB Chairman Roisul Alam Mondal, a2i Joint Project Director Mollah Mijanur Rahman and Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Rup Ratan Pain also addressed the inauguration ceremony with RAKUB Managing Director Niranjan Chandra Debnath in the chair.

Earlier on March 23, 2022, RAKUB launched its mobile app and internet banking to bring dynamism into its banking services.

Later on August 4, 2023 it also launched the system of opening accounts from home through e-KYC, QR code-based checkless transaction and the iOS version of RAKUB e-banking mobile app.

At present, around 4.0 million (40 lakh) clients of the bank are benefiting from the services in many ways, including banking transactions anytime and from anywhere, bill payment of utility services and opening of new bank accounts from home through 383 branches in 16 northwest districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions.
