Regent Airways starts flights to Saudi's Dammam

Regent Airways has spread the wings to the skies of Saudi Arabia, the largest workers market of Bangladesh in abroad.

The inaugural flight with 150 passengers left Hazrat Shahzalal International Airport to Dammam on Thursday night, expanding its operation to eight international destinations.

Earlier, H.E Abdullah H M Al Mutairi, Saudi Arabia ambassador to Dhaka, inaugurated the new route at yesterday evening, according to a media release.

Mr. Saad Bin Awad Al-Qahtani, head of the department of media, economic and cultural affairs of Royal Saudi Embassy to Bangladesh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Regent Airways Lt. Gen (Retd) M. Fazle Akber PhD, among other high officials were present at the programme.

The Saudi ambassador said, “Having more flights between two countries may enable more options for the passengers to choose at the same time it will strengthen our bilateral relation”.

Fazle Akber said, “We are dreaming to cover the total sky of the Middle East and we are going ahead in this regards.”

The CEO of the Regent Airways disclosed that the airways is preparing for starting Jeddah and Madinah of Saudi Arabia and two other important destinations Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in Middle East.

The inaugural flight reached at Dammam King Fahad International airport at 12:50 am local time. The flight left Dammam at 1:50 am (local time) and reached at Dhaka today morning at 9:45 am.

Initially, the flight will be operated four days a week Dhaka-Dammam-Dhaka route. Daily flight will operate from next June.
