The country's all export-oriented readymade garment factories will remain closed on Tuesday for the second consecutive day.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturer's and Exporters Association (BGMEA) on Monday night again requested all its member factories to close their respective units Tuesday for the safety of workers and employees.
The apparel apex body -- BGMEA -- also said that it would decide next course of action on the same day (Tuesday).
BGMEA director Mohiuddin Rubel confirmed this through a text message.
Earlier, on Sunday BGMEA and Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) asked all their member units to close factories until further instruction amid curfew and students' movement.
Sinha Textile, Beximco Synthetics, a warehouse of scrapped clothing items (jhoot) of Ha-Meem Group, and Bengal Plastic at Zirani in Ashulia and Outpace Spinning in Gazipur were set on fire on Sunday.
