Robin Razon Sakhawat has been elected as the new chairman of Jamuna Bank following the unanimous decision at the 453rd board meeting of the bank held on Monday.
After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering from Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany in 2009, he returned to Bangladesh and assumed the role of Director at Robintex Group. Established as a German-Bangladeshi joint venture, Robintex is recognised as a leading knitwear manufacturer and exporter globally. His focus at the company included driving innovation, enhancing productivity, and improving quality.
Currently, he holds the position of managing director at German-Bangla Chemical Ltd. He also served as managing director at Comptex (Bangladesh) Ltd.
In the 2021-22 fiscal year, he was recognised by the NBR as the 5th highest taxpayer in the young taxpayer category (under 40).
He is the eldest son of Abu Khayer Mohammad -- one of the most successful businessmen in Bangladesh's textile and garment sector.
