Rupali Bank holds workshop on Green Banking and Sustainable Finance

Rupali Bank Training Academy on Thursday arranged an awareness-creating training workshop titled “Green Banking and Sustainable Finance”.  

Held at the bank’s training academy in the capital’s Motijheel area, the workshop was inaugurated by managing director and CEO of the bank Mohammad Jahangir, according to a press release.

Principal of the training academy and general manager Mohammad Safayet Hossain chaired the workshop.

The MD emphasised the role of banks and financial institutions in implementing the government’s SDG.    

Director of Sustainable Finance Department of Bangladesh Bank Chowdhury Liakat Ali attended the programme as key speaker. 

In his speech, Mr Liakat explained the idea of sustainable financing by adding the components of sustainable development to environment, social and governance (ESG). 

Bank’s joint director Ahmed Jubayer Mahmud and Md Abu Rayhan also spoke on the occasion.

Senior officers and branch managers attended the workshop.
