The 11th International nuclear power forum, titled ATOMEXPO 2019, will be held in Russia’s southern city of Sochi on 15th and 16th April.

Over 6000 participants from 60 plus countries including Bangladesh will come together to share their knowledge expertise and best practices in the field of nuclear energy, says a press release.

Dedicated to the advanced modern nuclear power technologies, the two-day event will cover global issues including carbon-free energy, responsible approach to the environment and natural resources, green investments and international partnership for sustainable development among many others.

The forum will take place at over 13,000 square metres of area.

Industry leaders, representatives of international, national and public organisations, Russian and foreign companies, and experts in the field of modern nuclear science will take part in different programs during the event.

The opening day of the forum will feature the second ATOMEXPO AWARDS ceremony, an international professional accolade to celebrate the  achievements of nuclear energy companies for their outstanding services towards contribution to and development of the nuclear industry and its benefit for humankind.

In 2018, Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL)  won the award for its "Atom on Wheels" campaign started in 2016 to spread awareness in rural areas about the benefits of nuclear energy and dispel doubts about its risks.

In addition, the business programme will include sessions on pressing issues in the nuclear industry organised by the forum’s business partners – the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency, the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and the World Nuclear Association.

The 10th ATOMEXPO Forum in 2018 attracted over 4,000 delegates and guests from 68 countries.

Over 600 companies took part in the event.

A total of 39 agreements and other documents on cooperation and partnership, including commercial contracts signed on the sidelines of the forum.
