Sample submission ends on Sept 30

The last date for sending samples of pickles for the 19th edition of PRAN National Pickle Competiton-2018 is September 30. During this time, only women will be able to take part in the competition, said a statement.
Top winner of the competition will get Tk 0.2 million (2.0 lakh) as prize. A total of 12 women, in four categories- sweet, sour, hot and mixed - will win first, second and third prize while another 35 will get complimentary prizes.
Winners of the first place will get Tk 50,000 each, winners of the second place with a washing machine each and winners of the third place will get a microwave oven each.
Adil Khan, General Manager (Event) of PRAN-RFL Group said, pickles will be selected by six characteristics- taste, external features, preservation, nutrition, packaging and newness.
A panel of judges will select the winners of the competition.
He said, participants will be able to send pickles in more than in one category.
As sample of pickle, one need to send two jars of glass with 300 gms pickle. She must attach her name, address and production date with the sample. They also need to send a separate envelope with a passport size picture and recipe of the pickle.
Pickle samples have to be sent to Event Department (Sixth floor, Hossain Super Market, Pragati Sarani, North Badda, Dhaka 1212) of PRAN-RFL Group, Participants can send samples to PRAN local sales offices in Rajshahi, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Rangpur and Barisal.
