Shahjalal Islami Bank holds tree plantation program in Jashore

Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has been conducting tree plantation programs countrywide every year through different branches of the bank as part of its’ corporate social responsibility program for the protection of the country's environment and climate.

In continuation of this, a tree plantation program was organized on 4th September 2025 at the premises of Bagharpara Pilot Girls' High School in Jashore, according to a press release.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Bagharpara Upazila Mahir Dayan Amin was present as the chief guest in the tree plantation program-2025.The tree plantation program was organized by the Jashore, Khulna and Chuknagar branches of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC under the presiding over of Bilal Hossain, President of the Managing Committee of Bagharpara Pilot Girls' High School.

At the program, the speakers emphasized the importance of conducting tree plantation activities across the country to build a green Bangladesh. At the end of the event, about 3 (three) hundred fruit, forest and medicinal tree saplings were distributed among the students and saplings of different species of trees were planted in the school premises.

Among others, Tanvirul Islam Sohan, Secretary of Jashore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and prominent industrialist, Abdul Hai Mona, former Mayor of Bagharpara Municipality, A. B. M. AhsanulKabir, Manager of Jashore Branch of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC and Md. Zahidul Islam, Headmaster of Baghar Para Pilot Girls High School, were present at the program. Iqbal Kabir, eminent journalist and president of Jashore Press Club, prominent businessman and social worker Abu Musa, Baharul Islam, members of the school's management committee and guardians along with other teachers of the school were also present in the program.
