Shimanto Bank has signed an agreement with the Sustainable Finance Department (SFD) of Bangladesh Bank for lending under a refinancing package to promote environment-friendly products/projects/initiatives.
Rafiqul Islam, managing director & CEO of Shimanto Bank, and Chowdhury Liakat Ali, director (SFD), Bangladesh Bank, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
Senior officials from both organisations were present in the signing ceremony, says a media release.
Various eco-friendly products/projects/initiatives such as renewable energy, alternative energy, liquid and solid waste management, recycling and manufacturing of recyclable goods, environment-friendly establishments, green agriculture, etc. sectors will get priority to avail term loans at a maximum 5.0 per cent interest rate under the agreement.
