SINGER, Brac to offer tailoring courses for 5000 women

SINGER Sewing Instructress meet was held in Dhaka Monday with participation of Sewing Instructresses from across the country.

During his inaugural speech, Singer Bangladesh Limited Managing Director & CEO Mr MHM Fairoz said Singer business has been growing very fast over the last few years and Sewing Instructresses have been contributing towards the growth of the company.

“In addition to this, Sewing Instructresses have been teaching sewing skills thus helping women of our society to become self-reliant’’, Mr. Fairoz said.

The Singer CEO also revealed that under a new programme “Abolombon’’, a joint initiative by SINGER and Brac, a total of 5000 women will be offered free tailoring courses through Singer Sewing Instructresses over next two years.

Marketing Director Mr. Vajira Tennakoon and Sales Director Mr. Mokbulla Huda Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion. Other high officials of the company attended the meet.

Best performing Sewing Instructresses were recognized and rewarded in the event, said a statement.
