Six-day fabric exhibition kicks off in city Saturday

A six-day-long Winter Collection Fabrics Week began in the city on Saturday. Paramount Textile PLC, one of the leading fabric manufacturing companies in Bangladesh, is organising it.

The event, being held at the premises of Paramount Textile's head office in Gulshan, aims to further expand the textile industry of Bangladesh in the international market.

Chairman of the company Shakhawat Hossain Kollol inaugurated the event this morning.

Buyers from world famous brands of the apparel industry are taking part in the fabric exhibition.

This exhibition features some 2,000 different varieties of high-quality fabrics produced by Paramount Textile.

Paramount Textile has been manufacturing various types of eco-friendly and sustainable yarn dyeing, solid dyeing, printing fabrics and others, since 2008.

This year, they have produced fabrics with a lot of emphasis on eco-friendly products, said its chairman.

Recycled cotton, Recycled Polyester, Organic Yarn, Regen RD Fabrics, Natural Colors, Ecobera Libaco Fabrics are among them.

“The fabrics produced for winter garments have been displayed in the event for the buyers of different countries, including Europe,” Mr Kollol said.

He further said that through this fabric exhibition, international buyers and chief marketing officers of different garments and buying houses will get an understanding of the fabrics’ quality manufactured by the company.

Innovations in fabrics, colours and materials are also being displayed at the exhibition, he said.

The chairman of Paramount Textile claimed that the company has produced fabrics that are attracting interest from overseas buyers.

"Already, we are working with domestic and famous foreign brands. To maintain this continuity in the future, we have invested heavily in the development and research sector. We are presenting Bangladesh with fabrics in the world forum,” said Mr Kollol.

The exhibition of Fabric Week is open to visitors every day from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm till February 8.
