Skills and innovation competition held in technical education institutions nationwide

To foster the talent and innovative capacity of technical students, the institutional phase of the Skills and Innovation Competition 2025 was held on Saturday across more than two hundred technical education institutions throughout the country. A total of 3,209 innovative projects participated in the competition.

This unique competition, designed to showcase new innovations and discoveries of technical students, was held simultaneously in 227 technical education institutions nationwide, including public and private polytechnic institutes as well as technical schools and colleges, says a press release.

The competition was organized under the Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) Project, implemented by the Directorate of Technical Education under the Technical and Madrasah Education Division of the Ministry of Education.

Mr Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; Engineer Abul Khair Md Akkas Ali, Director General of the Directorate of Technical Education; and Engineer Md Ruhul Amin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, witnessed the institutional phase of the Skills and Innovation Competition 2025 at several technical education institutions in the Barishal Division.

In addition, Engineer Mir Zahid Hasan, Additional Secretary to the Government and Project Director of the ASSET Project, along with officials from the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, the Directorate of Technical Education, and various projects under the Directorate, visited the competition venues across the country and encouraged the students.

The competition, held in a festive and inspiring atmosphere and open to visitors, was attended by local administration officials from all divisions, districts, and several upazilas, teachers and students from various educational institutions, representatives from industries and civil society, members of the media, and people from all walks of life.

The regional phase of the Skills and Innovation Competition 2025 will be held throughout October and November, while the national phase will take place in December this year. The inventors of the top three innovative projects in the final round will be awarded attractive prizes.
