SME entrepreneurs should focus more on enhancing their skills: speakers

The country’s small and medium entrepreneurs should focus more on enhancing their digital literacy, skill development and innovation to achieve their desired growth, speakers at a seminar on Wednesday said.

They also said the entrepreneurs should update themselves with the new frontier technologies to cope with the imminent challenges to be induced by disruptive technologies in the coming days.

The speakers came up with the observations at a seminar on the ‘Role of effective entrepreneurial ecosystem in developing smart Bangladesh and way forward’ held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city’s Agargaon area in the sideline of the week-long SME Fair.

Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation (SMEF) organised the event aiming to promote the country’s entrepreneurs and create a major matchmaking platform.

Executive Chairman of the National Skills Development Authority Nasreen Afroz attended the seminar as the chief guest while the SMEF Managing Director (Additional Charge) Salahuddin Mahmud moderated the discussion.

An associate professor and Director of the Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (ICE) Center, University of Dhaka Rashedur Rahman presented a keynote paper.
