Social Islami Bank arranged the Agent Banking Conference-2024 recently at a hotel in Dhaka.
Md Abul Bashar, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, was present as the chief guest, and Zafar Alam, Managing Director and CEO of Social Islami Bank, presided over the programme, according to a media release.
Mohammad Forkanullah, Abdul Hannan Khan and Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Deputy Managing Directors, Md Mashiur Rahman, Head of Agent Banking Division, along with various divisional heads of the bank, were also present in the programme.
The owners of 370 agent outlets across the country attended the conference.
Md Abul Bashar, the chief guest, mentioned that Bangladesh Bank formulated Agent Banking Guidelines in 2017 for the proper management of agent banking activities.
He said that Social Islami Bank is efficiently managing the agent banking activities, and there have been no unexpected incidents in the bank so far.
He thanked Social Islami Bank for this, the release says.
Zafar Alam, Managing Director and CEO of the bank, said that there is no difference between the sub-branch and agent outlet.
Customers can now avail investment benefits from agent outlets, he said, adding that agents are doing very well in collecting remittances.
Social Islami Bank, as a mass people’s bank, has introduced several services for people of all classes and professions, he said.
Customers can easily avail of these services through the agent outlets, he added.
