Social Islami Bank opens new Keshorhat Branch in Rajshahi

Social Islami Bank PLC has inaugurated its 181st branch, the Keshorhat Branch in Rajshahi on Monday as part of its journey toward excellence, offering modern banking services to the local community.

The branch was opened through a ceremony that was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including participation of the bank's Chairman Professor Dr. M. Sadiqul Islam, FCMA, as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Maksuda Begum, the bank's vice-chairman, and Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Rajshahi, were present as special guests.

The event was presided over by Md. Nazmus Saadat, the bank's acting managing director. The ceremony also saw the presence of senior bank executives, local businessmen, and distinguished community members.

Professor Dr. M. Sadiqul Islam, FCMA, said that with the help of Bangladesh Bank and trust of the customers SIBL has turned around. He mentioned that the bank has successfully implemented good governance across all levels and has restructured its Shariah Board, ensuring that customers receive fully Shariah-compliant banking services. He added that Shariah-based banking is beneficial to all class of community.

Maksuda Begum, vice-chairman of the bank, shared her optimism about the bank’s recovery, stating that Social Islami Bank has emerged stronger after overcoming past challenges. As a people's bank, the bank is now providing seamless banking services to marginalized communities.

Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Rajshahi, acknowledged Social Islami Bank’s reputation as a reliable financial institution. She expected that SIBL will be able regained its normal banking activity soon.

Md. Nazmus Saadat highlighted that the bank now offers a full range of services, including bill payments, BEFTN, RTGS, internet banking, and more. He expressed confidence that the local community, especially businesses and people from all sectors, would benefit from the banking services at the new branch.
