Southeast Bank holds workshop on retail product knowledge, marketing strategies

Southeast Bank PLC recently organised a day-long workshop focused on Retail Product Knowledge, Credit Assessment Tools, and Marketing Strategies for 59 Associate Relationship Officers at the bank's training institute. Expanding its focus on retail banking alongside its well-established corporate and SME services, Southeast Bank aims to meet the diverse needs of individual clients through a variety of innovative products, including Home Loans, Car Loans, Personal Loans, and Doctor’s Loans. Additionally, customer-oriented campaigns are regularly launched to attract new clients, says a press release.

The workshop concluded with a closing ceremony attended by Mr Nuruddin Md Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, who provided valuable guidance on enhancing the bank’s services and growth. In his address, Mr Sadeque emphasised the significance of delivering high-quality retail banking services and noted the bank’s strong financial performance.

Southeast Bank ranks 5th among its peers in terms of balance sheet size, valued at BDT 509.8 billion (BDT 50,980 crore). It holds 3rd place in export trade, 7th in import trade, 4th in SME lending, and 2nd in industrial lending. The bank's long-term credit rating is AA, and its short-term rating is ST-2, reflecting its financial strength. Additionally, its capital adequacy ratio stands at 13.88 per cent, exceeding the regulatory requirement of 12.50 per cent, while liquidity ratios, including CRR, SLR, LCR, and NSFR, surpass regulatory benchmarks.

Mr Sadeque reassured participants of the bank's ample liquidity to meet operational needs and emphasised its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability. He highlighted Southeast Bank’s progress, driven by clear goals, teamwork, and collective efforts, positioning the institution for continued success and future growth.

The event was also attended by Ms Saima Banu, Director of Training, and Mr Md Abdul Kader, Head of Retail Banking Division, alongside other officials of the bank.
