Standard Bank holds workshop on ‘Shari’ah Compliance in Banking Operations’

Standard Bank PLC organized a workshop titled `Shari’ah Compliance in Banking Operations’ on 25 November 2025 at the bank’s head office, according to a press release.

Dr. Muhammad Saifullah, bhairman of the bank’s Shari’ah Supervisory Committee, attended the event as the chief guest, while Professor Dr. Zubair Mohammad EhsanulHaque, member-secretary of the Shari’ah Supervisory Committee, was present as the special guest.

In his address, Dr. Muhammad Saifullah highlighted the importance of ethical values and upright conduct in Islamic banking. Professor Dr. Zubair Mohammad Ehsanul Haque discussed the significance and necessity of practicing Shari’ah compliance in the bank’s operational activities.

The workshop was conducted by Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director of the bank. Janab. K. M. Rahmatullah, CSAA Head of the Shari’ah Secretariat Division, presented the Shari’ah compliance report of the bank’s branches.

Along with the Murakebs of the Shari’ah Secretariat Division, executives and officers from various divisions of the Head Office participated in the workshop. Additionally, Heads, Deputy Heads & Investment In-charges of different branches joined the session through a virtual platform.
