Standard Chartered Bangladesh has launched the ‘SC Cup 2024,’ a unique five-a-side football tournament. This marks the seventh edition of the SC Cup in Bangladesh, according to a press release Tuesday.
The tournament will take place in December and offers participating teams the chance to win a visit to Anfield, home of Liverpool Football Club, where they will watch Liverpool in action.
The teams competing in this year’s tournament include Abul Khair Group, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages Limited, DBL Ceramics Ltd, Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Limited, Fakir Fashion Ltd, IDLC, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Pran Group, Robi Axiata, Unilever Bangladesh Limited, and United Group.
Over the years, Standard Chartered Bangladesh has hosted six football tournaments, which have seen teams embracing the love of the game, enhancing their football skills, and fostering new relationships among colleagues and teammates. Past winners of the SC Cup include Grameenphone, Banglatrac, Robi, and Youth Group.
Standard Chartered began its sponsorship of Liverpool Football Club (LFC) in July 2010. Over the past 13 years, the partnership has grown stronger, driven by shared values and objectives. Both Standard Chartered and LFC have deep roots in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, where a large portion of LFC’s 770 million followers reside. The partnership between Liverpool Football Club and Standard Chartered is set to continue for 17 seasons, lasting until the end of the 2026/27 football season.
