Standard Chartered Bangladesh introduces Bangla QR payment feature on SC Mobile App

Standard Chartered account holders can now use Bangla QR payment feature using their SC Mobile App. This milestone reinforces the Bank’s commitment to driving a cashless society and supporting Bangladesh’s transition towards a digital economy.
The Bangla QR feature was introduced through a launch event where senior leaders of the Bank were present including P.D. Singh, CEO, India & South Asia; Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO, Bangladesh; Khaled Aziz, Chief Technology and Operations Officer, Bangladesh; and Faisal Haque, Head, Priority and Wealth Management.
Bangla QR, an initiative of Bangladesh Bank, is designed to establish a unified and interoperable payment ecosystem. Standard Chartered Bangladesh is fully integrated with the National Payment Switch of Bangladesh (NPSB) and now also with the Bangla QR that is facilitating seamless digital payments across the country.
The Bangla QR payment feature enables clients to make instant, secure, and seamless payments by simply scanning a merchant’s QR code with the SC Mobile App. Whether at local markets, shops, or restaurants, clients can now enjoy a contactless payment experience without the need for cash or cards. Available on both Android and iOS, the new feature further strengthens the Bank’s suite of digital solutions, enhancing convenience and elevating the banking experience for clients.
