Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus offers Bhutan the advantage of all available infrastructural facilities in various sectors of Bangladesh, saying that significant opportunities remain for expanding bilateral collaboration.
He conveyed the offer through the newly appointed Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh, Dasho Karma Hamu Dorjee, when she called on him at the State Guesthouse Jamuna in Dhaka, said a spokesperson for the CA Office.
Ambassador Dorjee conveyed the best wishes of the Prime Minister of Bhutan to the Chief Adviser.
Highlighting the longstanding historical ties and the existing excellent relations, Ambassador Dorjee conveyed appreciation for the continued cooperation extended by the Government of Bangladesh to Bhutan, particularly in medical education and cooperation in establishing a Bhutanese Special Economic Zone in Bangladesh.
She expressed Bhutan's eagerness "to deepen its engagement" with Bangladesh.
Stressing the significance of strong people-to-people ties, Prof Yunus stressed that "the youth of both countries should visit each other to experience their cultures and strengthen mutual bonds".
The head of post-uprising government mentions that Bangladesh wishes to uphold and continue the spirit of SAARC-a regional forum of South Asian nations long remaining dormant.
The chief adviser welcomed the envoy to Bangladesh, assured her of full support, and expressed optimism that the ties between the two South Asian nations would further strengthen during her tenure.
