TCB to procure 16m litres of soybean oil, 10,000 tonnes lentil

Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will procure lentils and edible oil for its open market sale (OMS) in Ramadan.

As per a decision, approved by Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase in its meeting on Wednesday, the TCB will buy 10,000 tonnes of lentils and a total of 16.0 million litres of soybean and rice bran oil.

The Ministry of Commerce moved three separate proposals on behalf of its subsidiary body TCB, reports UNB.

Of the products, the TCB will procure 10,000 tonnes of lentil through open tender method (OTM) from Senakalyan Sangtha at a cost of Tk 1.02 billion with each kg price at Tk 102.75.

It will buy 11.0 million litres of soybean oil through OTM from City Edible Oil Company Ltd at a cost of Tk 1.68 billion with per litre price at Tk 152.98.

The remaining 5.0 million litres of rice bran oil will be procured by the TCB from Majumder Product Ltd at a cost of Tk 760 million with per litre price at Tk 152.

Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali presided over the CCGP meeting.
