Trade through Sonamasjid Land Port resumes after Puja holiday

Trade activities at the Sonamasjid Land Port in Chapainawabganj resumed on Tuesday after a six-day suspension due to Durga Puja celebrations.

Alimuzzaman, an official from the Bangladesh Land Port Authority stationed at the port, confirmed the resumption of operations.

According to the official, the trading halt between Bangladesh and India began on October 9 and continued until October 14 during the Durga Puja festival, according to a UNB report.

With the festival concluded, regular import-export activities resumed, as Indian trucks entered the port with imported goods.
