‘Gemsclip’ wins World Summit Awards Bangladesh

Gemsclip, the fastest growing business-to-business (B2B) ecommerce platform of the country, received the World Summit Awards Bangladesh in the category of Business and Commerce as a local nominee, said a statement.

The local nominees from participating countries of the global competition will attend the final round to be held in Ghana and fight for the “Global Champion” title.

Gemsclip serves business facilities and organizations by simplifying the supply hassles of procurement managers; providing the best quality products while saving time.

A concern of eGeneration Group; the one-year old B2B site has remained in the spotlight for its unique business proposition and market impact. Last year it won the ‘South Asian Business Excellence Awards 2017’ in ‘Start-Up of the Year’ category.

Syed Almas Kabir, President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Tina Jabeen, Investment Advisor for Startup Bangladesh, iDEA Project, ICT Ministry presented the award in a ceremony held in the ICT Tower, Agargaon on Sunday. On behalf of Gemsclip, Monowar Hossain Khan, Chief Executive Officer; Ahnaf Mohsin, Manager, Business Development and Prodip Biswas, Assistant Manager, Operations received the award.

Romi F Ahsan, Managing Director of Gemsclip said, “The award will inspire Gemsclip to transform and digitize the procurement industry of Bangladesh through innovation, technological embellishment, transparency and prioritizing cost minimization.”

Monowar Hossain Khan, CEO of Gemsclip, expressed his delight at this achievement and was quoted saying, “We are extremely enthusiastic about this nomination. This puts Gemsclip, Bangladesh’s first ever procurement tracking and easy reordering service provider on the international map as we are heading to compete in the final competition.”

World Summit Awards is a prestigious, widely renowned award founded in the framework of the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), mandated by the WSIS Plan of Action, and cooperates with UNESCO and UNIDO., and is organized by the International Center for New Media (ICNM), Salzburg, Austria. World Summit Award Bangladesh 2018 was an initiative to select and promote Bangladesh’s best digital content developers and innovative applications and provide them an opportunity to present their business internationally in WSA Global Congress.

The WSA Bangladesh 2018 was brought to Bangladesh by MCC Ltd. in collaboration with Startup Bangladesh and BASIS.
