Transport for London (TfL) will provide technical assistance to the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to enhance its transport system, reports UNB.
A delegation from TfL met with DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz at his office in Gulshan Nagar Bhaban on Thursday.
The delegation included traffic management experts Ruth Salmon, Sian Huston, and Nicola Brady.
TfL will assist DNCC in three key areas: network management, bus operations, and safety. Initially, the programme will begin as a pilot project in the Gulshan-1 and Gulshan-2 areas.
The technical assistance will be provided with financial backing from the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
DNCC Administrator Azaz said that Transport for London (TFL) is well-known all over the world.
He mentioned that TfL's expertise and technical support will significantly contribute to improving traffic management, particularly in the Gulshan area, focusing on public transport development and ensuring the safe movement of people.
