The number of truck registration in the country decreased drastically in 2019 compared to that of 2018.
A total of 8,326 trucks were registered in 2019 while it was 12,663 in the year before, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) statistics.
Of the total, 6,233 in 2019 and 8,731 in 2018 trucks were registered in Dhaka, the BRTA data revealed.
Apart from this, 10,353 such vehicles were registered in 2017, the transport regulator data showed.
