Uber has launched operations in the tourist resort of Cox's Bazar today (Wednesday), making it the 4th Bangladeshi city after Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet, where riders can now book UberXL and MOTO services by downloading the Uber app.
The launch of Uber services in Cox's Bazar will offer affordable, reliable, and convenient transportation access to riders, and livelihood opportunities for drivers, said a media release.
Uber has launched several safety products so that before, during, and after trips, riders feel safe.
There is an emergency number that connects riders to law enforcement, an in-app safety toolkit, and updated Community Guidelines, which outline the behavior expected of riders and drivers on the app to foster mutual respect, the release added.
To ensure seamless post-trip assistance, Uber has invested in a 24/7 safety response team and a dedicated law enforcement response team for assisting police with any information they might need.
