UCB, Planten Agro join hands to drive sustainable growth in agriculture sector

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Planten Agro Ltd, an agri-tech startup, to establish a strategic partnership aimed at promoting sustainable development in Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Nabil Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Managing Director of UCB, and Md. Golam Azam Faruque, Managing Director of Planten Agro Ltd., on behalf of their respective organisations, according to a press release.
This collaboration seeks to empower farmers through the application of modern technologies and innovative solutions in agriculture. UCB will support Planten Agro’s initiatives with its financial expertise and banking services, contributing to the transformation and productivity of the sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by A.K.M. Fahim Mashroor, Advisor of Planten Agro; Syed Hasnain Mamun, Chief Human Resources Officer of UCB; and Mohammad Salim Chowdhury, Head of SME & Agri Banking Division at UCB, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a resilient and tech-enabled agricultural ecosystem that can uplift farmers and strengthen the national economy.
