Union Bank holds Branch Manager Conference

Union Bank PLC organised its Branch Manager Conference on Monday (Sept 23) at the bank’s head office in Dhaka, aiming to achieve its business targets for the year 2024.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Union Bank PLC Mr Md Fariduddin Ahmad was present as the chief guest. Key attendees included Mr Sheikh Zahidul Islam, FCA, Chairman of the Audit Committee; Mr Md Humayun Kabir, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee; Independent Directors Dr Md Shahidul Islam Zahid and Mr Mohammad Saiful Alam; and Professor Mohammad Mozahidul Islam Chowdhury, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, along with Member-Secretary Mufti Mohammad Muhibbullahil Baqee. The conference was presided over by the Managing Director, Mr ABM Mokammel Hoque Chowdhury.

During the conference, The bank's directors urged branch managers to prioritise deposit mobilisation and unearned investment collection to address the liquidity challenges. Professor Mohammad Mozahidul Islam Chowdhury, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, emphasised the importance of adhering to Shariah principles in all banking operations.

In his address, Mr Md Fariduddin Ahmad encouraged all branch managers to continue setting exemplary standards in service and business success, both domestically and internationally. He stressed the need for a customer-friendly approach and Shariah compliance to earn the trust of clients and establish Union Bank as the best bank in the country.

The conference also delved into various topics, including bank deposits, investments, foreign trade, expatriate income, and current challenges. Branch managers were advised to enhance their service offerings to meet customer needs and achieve the 2024 business targets.
