United Commercial Bank signs MoU with Chattogram City Corporation for development of playground and park

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) on 18 May 2025.

Under this agreement, the abandoned playground adjacent to the Karnaphuli Shishu Park in Agrabad will be transformed into a modern, child-friendly recreational centre equipped with advanced facilities, according to a media release. 

The MoU was signed in a cordial ceremony held at UCB’s head office.

Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of Chattogram City Corporation and Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, Managing Director and CEO of UCB, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.

Among others, Dr. Sahadat Hossain, Mayor, Chattogram City Corporation and Sharif Zahir, Chairman of UCB, were also present at the signing along with officials from both organisations.

Dr. Sahadat Hossain, Mayor, Chattogram City Corporation said, UCB’s relentless participation towards the development of a green and environment-friendly Chattogram is praiseworthy.

Moreover, Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, Managing Director and CEO of UCB, expressed his commitment that UCB will be actively engaging in positive CSR activities, the release adds.
