Fake cosmetics

MARKETS are flooded with fake cosmetics. The situation has reached a stage when it has become almost impossible for consumers to separate fake products from genuine ones. These fake products are not only manufactured and marketed illegally, they also do not contain the right ingredients. These fake cosmetic products are harmful for our health. Some unscrupulous and dishonest manufacturers and traders take advantage of the ignorance of their customers and deceive them with fake products. The tendency is particularly rampant during festival time. As Eid-ul-Fitr is round the corner, markets are being flooded with fake cosmetic products. Unfortunately, we do not see adequate measures of the authority concerned to stop this. Traders and manufacturers are arrested and/or products seized. But they soon come out on bail and go back to their murky business. The government should take appropriate legal action against these dishonest businessmen and plug all the holes in its system to stamp this evil out of society.
