Ideals, freedom and just not getting it

In a recent friendly argument, a media person insisted that it was about time for certain rules to be in place for social media content. If it is possible to resist the natural urge to protest for freedom of expression, it isn't a daft idea, especially if the following excerpts from an article posted on FaceBook is any indication of our future. The person posting it is Chairman of a Foundation and Editor of an on-line agency of sorts, but in order not to put the person into discomfort, the names are being left out. Quoting the article verbatim:
"IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACHIVE ECONOMIC FREEDOM WITHOUT IDEAL OF LIBERATION  16th December is the glory of the nation. On this day in 1971, the Bengali nation stands tall in the world of their own ethnic identity. In this day in the map of the world emerge a new country called Bangladesh.  Bangladesh get a new identity in the world court for this war, which was started under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahaman. This win is the sacrifice of 30 million martyrs.
Pakistani forces were suddenly attacked on unarmed Bengalis on the night of 25th march in 1971. Indiscriminate slaughter began. Dhaka city become a division of death at that night. The country are stained with the blood of the teachers, students, doctors, engineers and the general people. Unarmed Bengali had started protective war against Pakistani army. This protective war turn in to the liberation war. Nine month armed conflict killed three million people and takeaway two million mother's and sister's honour, as a result this great victory. Bangali nation did not have to fight against Pakistan's armed rather fight against Al-Bador, Al - shams. The Bangali hero stood up against the Pakistani invaders. Weapons were unaccustomed hand.
In the late afternoon of December 16, 1971, the Bengali hero was brought caranta victory of the liberation struggle. Dhaka Race Course Maidan ( now Suhrawardy Udyan ) platform was prepared . Dhaka club was brought immediately a table and two chair to the side . Zone-B of Pakistani's Martial Law Administrator Lieutenant General Amir AbdullahKhan Niazi , commander of Eastern command and led  91of the 549 Pakistani Army surrendered to the Indian army chief Major General  Jacob and Signed on the deed at 31 for four in the afternoon .
Bangladesh emerged as an independent and sovereign country at this day. A lot of blood, a lot of unfortunate event lead to the emergence of Bangladesh. This day is the glory days, happy day, the day of pride, dignity days for the Bengali people. In 1971, in exchange for a sea of blood under the leadership of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, independent Bangladesh was established on the world map.  This victory could not be achieved in one day. The final victory was achieved through armed struggle in nine month. Pakistani army  was defeated by the brave children of Bangali nation has snatched victory flag. Bengalis pride in the success of victory. The victory of the victory.
The main goal of the national liberation struggle against the Pakistani occupation forces had achieved victory against the power of darkness and evil; to establish democracy and the rule of law. Everyone was behind the victorious struggle of the Bengalis national rights and democracy. Independence meant freedom of the human spirit with the release of the financial developments pave the way of financial freedom. The goal of Bangladesh Liberation War was to establish a happy and prosperous. According to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman "Bangladesh will be a Golden Bengali''. Victory day of in this year, we will have to take an oath that we set up a golden Bengali .
Not less important than the protection of freedom of independence. More important than the freedom to make meaningful to the people. Liberation had a dream of establishing an exploitation-free country. Had a dream of a society where there will not be discrimination among human beings."
The article completes that which the Pakistani occupiers didn't; a full and comprehensive rape of the English language. It also suggests that they and not us were under some cosh, it gives a completely distorted view of history and undermines our freedom struggle. The blame is probably not the writer, though questions of ability will arise. The blame has to fall squarely on our education system that has allowed such persons to not only navigate through the exam system but also attain an audacious position behind the veneer of freedom of expression. Interestingly enough, the post had not solicited a single word of protest. But the question this scribe would leave with the reader is: were these the ideals and freedom we sought?
