BOXING legend Mohammed Ali is no more. He has said good bye to the mortal world and departed for a timeless journey into the eternity. This extraordinary genius has left this earth, but his legacy will live on forever in the hearts of peace-loving people. Mohammed Ali was a person who refused to join an unjust war against Vietnam as a result of which he was stripped of his world boxing heavyweight title. He could easily compromise and stay on as a champion, but he chose the path of truth and justice and remained banned from the competition for nearly 4 years when he was at the peak of his career.
Mohammed Ali is loved by people all over the world and people here are no exception. He was given a warm reception when he visited Bangladesh in 1978. No other sports personality has influenced the world so much as Ali did. Ali always advocated peace and was highly critical of Vietnam War. He won the hearts of people with his fiery speech for peace and justice. May his soul rest in peace and let his ideals kindle the light of freedom and justice in the minds of millions of oppressed and humiliated souls around the world.
