Need for more open spaces in Dhaka

NOW-A-DAYS we see children growing up less actively than their previous generation and we cannot blame them for not being so. One of the contributing factors in this respect is lack of open spaces in most schools for physical workouts.
Most schools in Dhaka city do not have a playground. So the children during their free time remain glued to their smartphones or watch movies or browse internet. As we look around, we see that Dhaka has very few open spaces to enable the city dwellers to go for a walk or play.
Many open spaces are again occupied by politically powerful people where mostly business activities are carried on. These open spaces occupied by vested quarters should be made free so that the people can enjoy their leisure time and children can have physical workouts there.
Luckily, we still have some parks and open spaces n our city and the city corporation should free the occupied spaces from the clutches of political goons so that the citizens can have enough physical workouts for a healthy life. We cannot expect a healthy nation if our children do not grow up healthy and physically active.
