Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Pakistan’s capital on Friday night with a small delegation, Al Jazeera reports.
The visit is described by officials as a key step towards the potential resumption of direct talks with the United States aimed at ending the war.
Iran’s state news agency IRNA said the visit is currently bilateral in nature, focused on discussions with Pakistani officials rather than immediate talks with Washington.
IRNA added that Araghchi is scheduled to travel on to Moscow and Muscat after his stop in Islamabad.
