Seven terrorists were killed during intelligence-based operations in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Tuesday.
The security forces conducted the operations in two different areas of the North Waziristan district of the province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement, reports Xinhua.
During the operations, intense fire exchanges took place between security forces and terrorists. The killed terrorists were actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and the targeted killing of civilians in the area.
The ISPR statement said that weapons and explosives were also recovered during the operation.
Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate the presence of other terrorists from the area, it added.
