Two dead after military helicopter crash in Myanmar

A Myanmar military helicopter crashed on Thursday in Lewe Township of the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, killing two people on board, the Information Team of Myanmar's State Administration Council reported.

During a training session, the military helicopter enroute to Meiktila of Mandalay Region crashed due to a technical malfunction in Lewe Township, some five miles southwest of Ledargyi Village in the township, reports Xinhua citing the information team.

The deceased, a pilot of the helicopter and a trainee on board, will be sent to a nearby military hospital, it said.
